Why Study Psychology?

Students in the psychology major at Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ study the human brain, mind and behavior, as well as the subfields of the discipline including behavioral neuroscience, cognitive, social, developmental, personality and psychopathology.
As a psychology major, you will:

- Delve into specific areas of interest while completing additional electives and a senior research experience.

What Can You Do with a Psychology Major?
Pacific Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓs with a psychology major are well-prepared for Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ studies in experimental psychology, neuroscience, clinical or counseling psychology and many other fields. They are also well-prepared for jobs requiring data analysis, science writing and lab work, and in fields like education and social services.
Our psychology Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓs are teachers and school counselors, mental health providers, researchers, Fulbright scholars and Âé¶¹Ó°ÊÓ students in many health professions programs.
Psi Chi, or the Psychology Club, is an honor society for students majoring or minoring in psychology.
